Dear Reena

Sorry for the slight delay in replying to you I have been in another part of the country, away from any internet connection. I am very sad to hear of the tragic loss of your husband. The grief you must feel makes it almost impossible to express words to take away your sadness. It is not surprising that you are still within the grasp and pangs of grief and loss, a process that unfortunately finds no easy cure, though time and spiritual knowledge help to ease the circumstance you find yourself in today.

You mention about being able to communicate with your husband. The simple answer is yes! But, please try to remember, generally there is no easy route to establishing spiritual communication. You may note that within many of the questions I have received for ‘Spiritualist Resources’, there are certain regular themes which resonate and draw parallels to your own enquiry. In certain parts of the world the problem you face is easier to overcome than in others as there are to be found local Spiritualist Churches and Centres. It is many years since I was in Malaysia, so I am of the belief this route will be far harder for you. Nonetheless, those in the eternal ‘World of Light and Peace’, find other ways of supporting bereaved people across the world.

I always seek to provide a reply that is personal to the individual who is asking the specific question. Yet, there are particular questions which resonate within a similar vein, many are relative to the loss of a much loved wife/husband, partner or close loved one. Subsequently, I apology if some of the phraseology in my reply to you, appears to have similar characteristics. The reason if my words resonate with similar words is because the answer is singular in that love never dies and lives beyond the rocks of matter out into the realms of eternity. In the measurement of time, for you, the period of grief is short, making the measure of sorrow intense because your feelings of love and hurt are locked in anguish and mourning. Briefly speaking where there has been a great bond of love, the grieving process is harder and more painful. There is a natural link between the “Two Great Worlds’’, a bridge, which provides an opportunity to connect with loved ones who wish to provide reassurance they are still only a thought away. The desire of people who have moved from this ‘World of Matter’, out into ‘Light’ is to give comfort to the person who grieves, and they try to help to make contact and prove there is continuity of life. It is at this point where the process of positive thought begins to come into play. All of life is a continuum providing a union with our loved ones, family and friends, who have moved out from this world. You may see, feel, hear or sense a loved one’s presence. Sometimes one may smell a particular fragrance, or perfume which stimulates and encourages the opportunity for spiritual contact. All of these factors provide humanity with knowledge of the continuous bond, which is held and brought together with love. Love is the bridge, which supports the interaction with our loved ones, who are able to intercommunicate with us in this world. Sometimes, perhaps on an odd occasion, we may also see our loved ones who now are resident in the great ‘Kingdom of Light’; this is through the landscape of a dream. Often we may see unfamiliar surroundings, vivid colours, or odd little things stimulate our recollection when we awake, to jolt our mind, and basically to help remember loved-ones we see within the dream. In dreams you may ask why does this happen? The answer is quite simple. Whilst we are in the state of sleep, the body is relaxed; as such we have the opportunity to travel into the ‘Astral Plane’, the anti-room of the spirit. For within the tranquil setting of this buffer zone set between the ‘Two-Worlds’, we are able to temporarily meet loved ones and for both parties to gain support and comfort.

Again, I point to your question and reaffirm that loved-ones are just a thought away. I would suggest you spend a little time in a particular part of your home or garden. If this is not possible and you cannot find a suitably gifted medium, perhaps this technique may help you. Take a little timeout to be in a room where you have had shared happy times, reflect on those special moments and relax. Meditation helps, take away any fear, relax and sit comfortably with a slightly dimmed light or table lamp turned on. Perhaps listen to a little ‘light’ music, a few photographs or belongings which are special to you. Of course there are no guarantees other than to try and try again, relax your mind and think of loved ones, to help your thought process and work upon building a spiritual connection. You may see, hear, or sense your loved one. Nevertheless don’t rule out the possibility you may discover that through the ‘State of Sleep’ a dream may be the optimum link with those you wish to connect with.

Finally please try to realise that although at the moment you may not feel any presence this doesn’t alter that fact that loved ones are only a thought away. Take your time and please try to stay positive and gradually the veil of uncertainty will open and allow you to move forward.

I have placed a postscript below from my Spiritual Teacher and Mentor Jack Corbett. I hope it helps you.

Kindest thought and prayers

Spiritual Awareness - Speaking through thoughts!

Life becomes a new and exciting way if you live within the companionship of the ‘Spirit World’. Our friends in light speak to us first through your thoughts, until they know our character, courage and patience. It is then that they can open up the inner ear, and spiritual contact becomes much easier. It is then that we become as one, as if we have settled ourselves down now in a train or a taxi, now that our spiritual guardians can reach our destination through our body, as you walk together in service of the spirit, in its many ways. You may say; I have had a thought, and one perhaps should remember that a thought travels quicker than light. Therefore, it is in less than a moment that a thought reaches you; our spiritual guardians know where you are and what you are doing. For they keep you company when you start your day, and are with you throughout until when your day is ended, to give you rest.

Remember, the man that sows wild oats cannot reap a good harvest. Keep to the pathway the ‘Great Spirit’ has put you on. If a small boy asks about the stars, he cannot be told all; very little can be offered, and put over in a child’s way. For more education he must wait until he has grown a little older, for it is then when he can take the information in. Those in ‘Light’ long to tell you more for they love you very dearly, although this does not get over the difficulties of this life, we all must wait, learn and be patient. Knowledge comes as new information, like the fragrance of a flower you will recognise and understand when it in its own season.

Everyone is a part of the universe and love is the bond that binds us all. When the spirit is released and returns home, it is not separated for a moment from those who love it. They have just come to the end of the pavement, and where the pavement ends, life really begins for them in its fullest sense. If mankind does not accept life after death then justice surely demands that in this life he should reap what he has sown here, and not have to wait until he has moved on to the ‘Spirit World’. Mankind may find it easy to laugh at your experience; but if you have known truth, then walk away and think kindly to the sad mind that tries to hurt you. Life does not stop just because the material body has fulfilled its purpose in earth; it goes on without end. Death to some people seems as a dark mystery that ends everything. That is the penalty for not thinking, it is the misery that comes because they have not bothered to enquire, being so caught up with earthly things only. When will mankind open its mind to the fuller way of life that helps them to understand their purpose here? Walk on dear friend we know the heart may yet be sad and at times be lonely we are with you always until the day breaks and the shadows flee away. The fragrance of a good life abideth forever.

Mankind lives in the material world by seeing, hearing and feeling and is conscious of the world because of these gifts; spirit illumines the body. But, seeing and hearing are insufficient to reveal to him the ‘Spirit World of Light’ and the universe until they begin to open the ‘Spiritual Channels’ that are open to unfold. It certainly involves a change in conditions. A father and his small son are not separated because the son has at this stage only baby talk; they grow together in love and companionship and so reach the top of the mountain as one, to see the same scene.

Spiritual companions watch us now; as I did in those far off times; they are but a step away, reach out for they are with you always.
