How to Open a Chakra #2 - The Sacral Chakra
Author/Service Provider:Jennifer Leigh

Chakras are energy centers located throughout the body that affect your mood, emotions and mental well-being. Chakras originated many years ago and mean "circular motion" in the Sanskrit language. The sacral chakra is located in the body's core and controls emotions including anger, fear, sexuality and creativity. Stones and crystals are often used in conjunction with the chakras, and the sacral chakra is related to opal, fire agate and carnelian. A healthy sacral chakra is an orange color.

Sit with your legs crossed on the floor or a comfortable surface.

Place your hands in your lap with your palms facing up. Your hands should be on top of each other with your left hand underneath your right. The left palm should touch the fingers on your right hand.

Touch the tips of your thumbs together.

Chant the sound "VAM" three times per breath. Focus your energy on your sacral chakra, which is located on your lower back. Take seven to 10 long, deep slow breaths during this meditation.
