In metaphysics, the "Akashic Records" are known as "The Book of Life," which contains the entire history of the universe and every soul who ever lived. Finding out the details in your akashic records is a process that does not come to an end with the first psychic reading you receive on the subject, and there are a few methods you can try if you want to tap into them. Whether you experiment with all of the techniques listed here or stick with one or two that you are most comfortable with, get ready to see yourself from a larger perspective.
Look for an audio hypnosis program especially geared toward exploring your akashic records (see Resources for an example). Set aside a time and place where you will not be disturbed so you can meditate in peace along with the program at least a few times a week.
While you can meditate with the intention to better understand any issue relating to yourself--such as your life purpose, unlearned lessons from previous lifetimes or the significance of a certain relationship--don't dictate what you are going to experience or how you will receive your answers. The information given to you can come in various forms. You may be met by a spirit guide, for instance, or you may not see anything but hear a guiding voice instead. You might even notice strong smells but neither see nor hear anything. If you draw a blank at first, don't give up. Sometimes your mind just needs to get used to meditation if you are new to it.
Keep a journal close by so you can afterward write down everything that came to you in your altered state of consciousness. Take note of whatever you sensed, even if it may seem insignificant at the moment. Understanding your akashic records is an ongoing process; you will be grateful you kept a detailed journal if bits and pieces of revelations only begin to make sense sometime in the future.
Book a session with a reputable professional hypnotherapist who can put you in the necessary trance state to access your akashic records. Look for someone who will allow you to take home and keep an audio recording of your session so you can review it at any time.
Schedule sessions with a few different psychics or intuitive readers whose work you know to be accurate. If you've never had a psychic reading before, ask friends for recommendations, or read reviews on the work and accuracy of renowned psychics whom you feel drawn to. Listen with an open mind, but take note especially of the information that resonates with you and jumps out at you in every reading.
Train with a respected psychic who teaches students how to develop their own psychic abilities so you can learn to tap into your akashic records without the aid of an audio program. It may take time for you to access a great deal of information specifically relating to your akashic records, but you will gain an overall sharper sense of insight and intuition.
Try exercises that induce a trance state, like shamanic drumming, so you can go on a spiritual journey with the goal of exploring your akashic records. Write down your experiences in your journal afterward, when you have grounded and recentered yourself.
