Self Healing

Science of Self Healing
Author/Service Provider:Willow Wisp

Many cultures do not possess the advanced medical technology and professionals to heal. In some parts of the world, witch doctors act as a channel for healing energies to pass from him to the patient. The question of whether witch doctors have powers may never be answered, but they "perform" to demonstrate to the patient, as well as the entire tribe, that something was being done to aid in the healing process. Many times, simply empowering one's beliefs are enough to bring back--and balance--the body's energy field and the mind's ability to self-heal.

Ways to Self-heal
Self-healing uses the power of your inner mind to rapidly and permanently alleviate troubling thoughts and uncomfortable emotions. Without a doubt, self-healing the body, mind and spirit is a far better choice than taking mind-numbing medications. There are a wide range of alternative medicines for self healing.

Acupuncture
This technique began in China more than 5,000 years ago. In traditional Chinese medicine, our body is a delicate balance between yin and yang. Yin is the slow, passive or cold force in the body. Yang is the active, excited or hot force in the body. As long as these two forces are in a well-balanced state, a person remains healthy. An imbalance can obstruct the flow of the body's vital energy, called Chi, through pathways called "meridians." There are 12 major meridians, as well as eight secondary meridians. At various points where energy or Chi blocks are found, fine needles are strategically placed, then twirled with the fingers or given a mild electric current. This technique helps stimulate the blocked area and allows the free flow of Chi energy.

Acupressure
This method is a close relative to acupuncture because they both treat the same areas of the body and follow the same Yin Yang theory. The difference is that acupressure relies on pressure and massage applied to pressure points applied by elbows, thumbs or fingers as opposed to needles. Because acupressure is less invasive than acupuncture, more people prefer it.

Ayurveda
This method is a holistic system of medicine that originated in India thousands of years ago. Ayurveda is used to provide guidance regarding food and lifestyle. According to Ayurveda, digestion is the key to good health. Eating the proper foods will make a profound difference in your overall well-being--including mind, body, senses and spirit. There are two aspects to food and nutrition in Ayurveda. One is the actual food you consume, digest and process. The second is what you consume through your mind and body--what you hear, see, taste, feel, smell and think are all important to your overall health.

Massage
Two massage techniques were found to have a great impact on self-healing:

Chi Gong Massage. This method focuses on increasing the circulation of Chi energy throughout the body. As a result, you are able to quickly recover from aches, soreness and fatigue. Chi Gong Massage is also recommended to relieve tension and stress--bringing the mind, body and spirit in balance.

Tui Na Massage. This method is a deep penetrating therapy that is applied to the body's meridian system--or energy channels--to revitalize energy and blood circulation to promote self healing. Tui Na Massage is more often used to treat many conditions, such as chronic stress-related disorders of the respiratory, digestive and reproductive systems.

Side Effects are health and happiness
The side effect of self-healing is serious. It involves the ability to gain the knowledge you need to unlock the awesome potential of the mind's power to heal and restore spiritual and physical health. I think we can all live with that.
