Stanley Park - Part 4: Beaver Lake
By:Sarah in Vancouver

Beaver Lake is a charming pond situated in the middle of Stanley Park. Being a forest lake, it is slowly shrinking as the surrounding vegetation is taking over. Year after year, there is less water surface "as the forest marches in" according to the information sign where we read that the process is accelerated by the water lilies that were imported from eastern North America in 1937 in order to beautify the lake. As you will see below, they do beautify the lake, but will eventually need to be removed/limited.
