These 2 routes, 67 and 78, are among the nicest in SoCal where to ride a bike. I can't get tired of them. Most of the beautiful places along these roads though are not here because I could not find a safe place (country roads without paved shoulder, steep hills or freeways) where to stop the motorcycle and take pictures. And my camera is really not ideal to capture the beauty of these hills. So, here is just an idea of how it feels on a hot summer day, when the sun is hitting the golden fields, the sky is blue, and a strong smell of dry hay is all over the place.
Departure on Mission Gorge between Mission Valley (San Diego) and Santee:
Along route 67:
Fields near Santa Isabel:
And the reward at the end of the road: Chosing between the dozen of varieties of "home-made" pies at Julian Pie in Santa Ysabel, a necessary destination in Southern California: Apple pies of course, Rhubarb,
Boysenberry, Pecan, Peach, Rasperry, Sweet apple without added sugar, etc. etc
