Queen Victoria (May 24, 1819 - January 22, 1901)
Institution / Country:England

It is recorded that two years before the birth of Spiritualism in the United States in 1848, Queen Victoria, who reigned as Queen of the United Kingdom from 1838 until her death in 1901, was already sitting with mediums.

Not much is known about her experiences from this period, but a gold watch presented to Miss Georgiana Eagle by Victoria attests to them. The engraving states: “Presented by Her Majesty to Miss Georgiana Eagle for her Meritorious and Extraordinary Clairvoyance Produced at Osborn House, Isle of Wight, July 17, 1846.”

When Prince Albert, her husband, died in 1861, Queen Victoria reportedly had six sittings with Robert Lees, a British medium, and received messages from her deceased husband.
