This is our wish for this discussion board: that it becomes a learning tool.

Re: Article: "Kindergarten Teacher Put On Leave For Using Ouija Board In Class" -- Minister -- 16 March 2017
We have to accept reality as it is. We have to accept that many people in 2016 and 2017, in the US and in Europe, want to backpedal. They want to return to the 1950-60s because it is familiar and ...

Re: An interesting article about Teleportation -- StarEyed -- 3 March 2017
1870, right? And we are talking about it 147 years later as if it was a new phenomenon. Somehow, our time is not ready for spiritual evolution. Of course, there is a small evolution going on. A ...

The state of spiritualism -- Wondering -- 22 January 2017
Wondering how come most spiritualist churches/centres don't grow. Any comments?
Re: The state of spiritualism -- Sarah -- 28 March 2017
I like what British Medium Stephen Wakeling wrote yesterday (link below) in answer to a similar question on his column: "Everything moves, from one point to another - nothing is still. As such, ...
Re: The state of spiritualism -- Hard Core Spiritualist -- 15 March 2017
It's a good question. I don't pretend to have the answers. What I know is that all religions in the West these days are going through changes, which often involve losing members of their ...
Re: The state of spiritualism -- Old Buddah -- 15 February 2017
I do not pretend to hold the answer but here is a fact: By nature, spiritualists are quite individualist. They learn to establish one on one, direct contact with Spirit, i.e. they learn NOT to need ...
Re: The state of spiritualism -- Minister -- 27 January 2017
The reason I see is the old folks in charge of the spiritualist centres become sclerotic: They stop growing/evolving, like established religions that keep repeating the same stuff century after ...
Re: The state of spiritualism -- Minister -- 28 March 2017
Guy Finley recently wrote in his Q & A on this site: "Every present moment is always new, and new is always right now. Now is constantly shedding the old. You need only observe any living system to ...

I just read the thread below about the intricacies of the human soul (being cruel vs loving animals) and, although unrelated to my topic, it made me want to ask this question that has been bothering ...
Re: The pain of animals -- Minister -- 27 January 2017
I share your pain and the pain of animals, and I apply to them the same principle I apply to people: We are all souls who chose to incarnate here on earth in order to learn to become better and ...
Re: The pain of animals -- Old Buddah -- 15 February 2017
It hurts me to say so, but I think that animals choose to come to earth in order to learn. It's brutal learning, most of the time and I am sure they all need a long time of recovery when they ...

Psychopaths can feel empathy... For animals -- Just wondering -- 7 January 2017
My understanding of what differentiates a psychopath from the rest of the population is that they don't have empathy for others. This is why, for example, they cannot love. But a case - and I am ...

Re: Need help in letting go -- Old Buddah -- 9 January 2017
That's a tough one because it goes deep into the psyche. On a more superficial level, I am sure you have tried recordings of hypnotherapy like ...

SRF bye bye, but Yogananda snif... -- Follower -- 5 January 2017
Today Jan 5 2017 is the 124th birthday of Yogananda. I am a little sad because I used to be a follower. He increased my awareness of "all matters spiritual" as you call your board. But I can't ...
Re: SRF bye bye, but Yogananda snif... -- WhiskyYoga -- 15 February 2017
I can't stand the SRF either. They are even more sclerosed and judgmental than the Catholics. But for people who like or need to follow, who like to be called "followers", the SRF is better than ...
Re: SRF bye bye, but Yogananda snif... -- Old Buddah -- 5 January 2017
It's always OK to leave a spiritual path when it no longer fits your needs. No guilt: Yogananda won't suffer because you no longer attend the SRF celebrations, no matter how many good things ...

Booze and spirituality -- Meditating Girl -- 5 January 2017

Re: Booze and spirituality -- OldBuddah -- 5 January 2017
Well, of course, if you start a meditation in a very tense condition (you are angry, frustrated, anxious...), you won't achieve much because you block the flow of energy back and forth, keeping ...

Re: Do Spirits Celebrate the New Year? -- Meditating Girl -- 5 January 2017

How do you differentiate between: receiving a message from spirit and imagining one? That's my big problem at the moment. I am never sure.
Re: Sensing a message vs. imagining one -- WhiskyYoga -- 15 February 2017
My own test is, because I chose high-quality spirits to establish contact with, that a message from spirit is usually full of joyful energy. My vibrations go up. I feel happy or excited. Just ...

Re: Sensing a message vs. imagining one -- WhiskyYoga -- 16 February 2017

Re: Sensing a message vs. imagining one -- LittleMedium -- 5 January 2017
Most people seem to have experienced the same confusion when they started studying mediumship. My personal test to differentiate the two, in case it works for you, is the following: Because spirits ...
